All Florida college ¼ø»Æʦapp must satisfy a civic literacy requirement in order to graduate. It is strongly recommended that this be completed during the first-year at ¼ø»Æʦapp. Speak with your academic advisor to see the specific requirements for YOU based on your college enrollment dates.Ìý

For ¼ø»Æʦapp who enrolled at the universityÌý before summer/fall 2024, Ìýyou can complete the Florida Civic Literacy Test (FCLT). You may have an additional course completion requirement in order to satisfy the state-mandated graduation requirement. See your advisor for more details.Ìý

FCLT – Florida Civic Literacy TestÌý specifically for ¼ø»Æʦapp who enrolled at the university before Fall 2024

  • The Civic Literacy Test (FCLT) is accessible through the Canvas portal. This means that ¼ø»Æʦapp can conveniently access the exam platform through their Canvas accounts.
  • ONLY STUDENTS ENROLLED BEFORE FALL 2024: Enroll here: Note: there is a link below to the FCLE study course for ¼ø»Æʦapp enrolled 2024 and beyond.

For ¼ø»Æʦapp enrolling at the university inÌýsummer/fall 2024 or later, you will be required to complete the Florida Civic Literacy Exam (FCLE) if you have not already done so at a Florida public high school or state college.

To prepare for the FCLE, ¼ø»Æʦapp ¼ø»Æʦapp are encouraged to view free video recordings covering topic you may find on the exam and practice questions to test yourself. ALL MATERIALS are FREE and open to any ¼ø»Æʦapp student. ÌýTo view recordings and take the practice questions you must .

TAKING the FCLE
Visit the ¼ø»Æʦapp Center for Testing and Certification website or speak with your academic advisor about details regarding taking this exam. The FCLE can be taken in person on the Boca Raton or Davie Campuses or remotely. TheÌý FCLE Ìýis computerized and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions. Test-takers will have two (2) hours to complete the test.ÌýThere is a two-week waiting period between attempts.Ìý
