Dr. Daniel Reyes-Guerra
Daniel Reyes-Guerra, PhD is a Professor in the School Leadership Program within the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at 鉴黄师app鈥檚 College of Education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in History/Government, Master of Science from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and PhD from 鉴黄师app.
Reyes-Guerra serves as the School Leaders Program Coordinator, guiding both the PhD and Master鈥檚/Specialist programs. He developed these programs in partnership with several districts, including Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, Saint Lucie, Okeechobee, and Osceola, reflecting his commitment to cultivating leadership across the state.
As Executive Director of the Office of Educational Leadership Learning, the professional learning arm of the School Leaders Program, Reyes-Guerra oversees and conducts school leadership-focused initiatives including building effective teams, coaching, administrator evaluation, improving challenging schools, and principal supervisor development. His work supports PreK-12 leaders at every stage of their growth, from aspiring administrators to experienced principals and district administrators.
Beyond his university leadership, Dr. Reyes-Guerra works closely with the Florida Department of Education on policy initiatives, including the development of the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS), the administrator evaluation model, school leadership program standards, and leadership assessment (e.g., the Florida Educational Leadership Exam, Level 2 Leadership Assessment, etc.). He serves as an officer for the Florida Association of Professors of Educational Leadership (FAPEL), the Learning and Teaching Special Interest Group (LTEL-SIG) of the American Educational Researchers Association (AERA), and as a consultant for the Wallace Foundation and Learning Forward.

Dr. Maysaa Barakat is professor at the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology, 鉴黄师app (鉴黄师app). Dr. Barakat is Past President of the Florida Association for Professors of Educational Leadership (FAPEL) and has recently been appointed as Associate Director for International Initiatives for the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). A Clark Scholar, Maysaa received her master鈥檚 and PhD in Educational Leadership from Auburn University, Alabama. She has over 15 years of school leadership experience, both in Egypt and the United States. Dr. Barakat鈥檚 research agenda focuses on culture and cultural competency, educational leadership preparation, and educational leadership within international contexts, with a special focus on education in Egypt. Dr. Barakat coordinates a partnership that fosters collaboration, intercultural exchange, and shared learning between 鉴黄师app and Egypt. She also has been leading the development and delivery of various professional learning opportunities for over 15,000 educators in Egypt since 2016. Dr. Barakat is Co-Principal Investigator (CO-PI) on the 鈥淧reparing for Readiness and Academic Improvement for pre-School Els鈥 (PRAISE) five year research grant.
