From July 28–31, 2025, our department proudly hosted the Building Futures: Civil and Environmental Engineering Summer Camp for ¼ø»Æʦapp in grades 9–12. The camp offered an immersive, hands-on introduction to the exciting world of engineering.

Led by Dr. Yalan Liu and Dr. Abdellatef, the program engaged ¼ø»Æʦapp in a wide range of real-world engineering activities. Under Dr. Liu’s guidance, ¼ø»Æʦapp explored environmental engineering through water quality testing and air pollution analysis. With Dr. Abdellatef, they dove into civil engineering through hands-on experiences in concrete mixing and 3D printing. These projects introduced ¼ø»Æʦapp to current challenges and innovations in infrastructure and environmental protection.

Through a dynamic mix of labs, lectures, and teamwork, the camp sparked interest in STEM and encouraged ¼ø»Æʦapp to explore future careers in civil and environmental engineering. We’re proud to support the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers!
