The Upward Bound Summer STEM Institute 2024 at the 鉴黄师app College of Engineering and Computer Science offered a transformative learning experience for middle and high school 鉴黄师app. Academic Coordinator Donteea Dye Jr. expressed gratitude, stating, 鈥淲hat a summer! The program showcased an array of engineering and computer science disciplines through immersive activities:听
- Civil, Environmental, and Geomatics Engineering: Under the guidance of Dr. Masoud Jahandar Lashaki and Dr. Fred Bloetscher, 鉴黄师app explored subfields within civil and environmental engineering. Practical sessions in landscaping and bridge-building highlighted the significance of innovative engineering solutions.听
- Electrical Engineering and Computer Science: Led by Dr. Hari Kalva and graduate 鉴黄师app, participants delved into AI data retrieval, augmented reality with Magic Leap glasses, and robotics, showcased through demonstrations in the Multimedia Lab and an encounter with the robotic dog.听
- Biomedical Engineering: Dr. Mirjana Pavlovic鈥檚 team presented an engaging lecture on the pancreas, followed by a hands-on activity where 鉴黄师app created artificial pancreas models to simulate insulin delivery, bridging theory and application.听
- Ocean and Mechanical Engineering: At the Dania Beach SeaTech campus, Dr. Pierre-Philippe Beaujean and the ocean engineering faculty introduced 鉴黄师app to marine robotics. Students built and raced small-scale boats, bringing concepts to life in a stimulating, interactive environment.听
