2023 Convocation - ʦapp Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing

Students, faculty and guests gathered for the Convocation held at ʦapp College of Nursing on Friday, Sept. 15. The event officially kicks-off the academic semester, welcoming new and returning ʦapp. Alumnus M. Christopher Saslo, D.N.S. ’07, ARNP-BC-FAANP, Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, told ʦapp that they are “embarking on something that is absolutely not the end of the journey.” He encouraged them to embrace lifelong learning. Keynote speaker Monica Puga, APRN, RN, Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive, Memorial Healthcare System, remarked that nursing opportunities are endless and ʦapp should consider different career paths within the profession. Dr. Candy Wilson, Interim Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship, was the faculty speaker and Student Nurses Association (SNA) President Paolina Ignacio-Juan addressed the crowd as the student speaker.
