¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Alum on her way to NOAA Fellowship

Alexis Sturm, Ph.D., recently earned a doctorate in integrative biology from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, and is a member of the ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. She is now on her way to start a one-year fellowship with the Coral Reef Conservation Program with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

"Coral reefs have always been the marine system I have felt most passionate about and were the focus of my graduate research at Harbor Branch, so I am very excited to continue working with something I love, but from a more management and policy-oriented perspective," she said. "I hope that next year I get to continue to contribute to the conservation of these diverse and valued ecosystems."

While at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Harbor Branch, Sturm worked in the Coral Reef Health and Molecular Ecology Lab under the mentorship of Josh Voss, Ph.D., associate research professor at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Harbor Branch. .
