Jewish Studies Scholarships
2025-2026 Scholarship Offerings / Applications for each can be found below.
Every year, Jewish Studies awards five or more scholarships of between $500 and $1,000, and sometimes more.
Please email a copy of your transcript, a short statement of your goals and need for the scholarship, and, if applying for the Mervis Scholarship, a faculty recommendation toÌýjewishstudies@fau.edu by the application date..
Winners will be determined by the Jewish Studies B.A. Committee.
The application deadline for all scholarships is April 1, 2026.
Scholarships include:
HERBERT AND ELAINE GIMELSTOB SCHOLARSHIP FOR JUDAIC STUDIES
- Provides for all ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app majoring and minoring in Jewish Studies
- The recipient is required to write an acknowledgement letter thanking the donor for the scholarship
NATHAN AND MARION CROSBY SCHOLARSHIP
- The Nathan and Marion Crosby Scholarship in Holocaust and Judaic Studies awards $1,000 annually to a student majoring in Jewish Studies. Eligible applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement (minimum 3.5 GPA for entering ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app). Preference will be given to ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app who are descendants of Holocaust victims. Recipients are required to acknowledge the award.
FRANK M. MERVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR JUDAIC STUDIES
- Junior or Senior standing, at least a 3.0 GPA and/or scholarly excellence in course work.
- A commitment to some aspect of Jewish communal service, including education and teaching.
- Nomination by faculty, peer or self; supporting data including a statement of goals, record of transcript and at least one faculty letter of recommendation.
- Evaluation by the Jewish Studies B.A. Committee.
