GEAR RENTAL POLICIES

Anyone renting equipment from the Outdoor Recreation Gear Rental Center will be required to sign a Waiver, Release, & Hold Harmless Agreement. This document outlines details of participant responsibilities to maintain the equipment, the cost of repairing or replacing equipment if it is returned damaged, and the assumption of risk associated with outdoor activities and use of equipment.

The following policies are included in the Waiver, Release, & Hold Harmless Agreement:

  • Participants assume full responsibility for the equipment and associated accessories, and that they will be financially responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment while it is in their possession.
  • Participants are responsible for the cost of repair for any damage to the equipment while in their possession.
  • Participants are responsible for returning the rental equipment during the Gear Rental Center's regular hours.
  • Participants will be charged a late fee based on the number of days it is returned late if equipment is returned past the designated return period on the reservation form.
  • Participants returning rental equipment wet, dirty, or soiled will be charged a cleaning fee.


GENERAL POLICIES

  1. Renters assume full responsibility for the equipment and associated accessories.
  2. Renters will be financially responsible for any loss or damage to equipment.
  3. Equipment must be returned clean and dry. Wet or dirty gear will result in a cleaning fee.
  4. Liability waiver will need to be signed upon gear check out. Also, renter will inspect gear with staff prior to check-out of items and upon the return.


LOST/DAMAGED GEAR FEES

  1. While our rates assume some wear and tear will occur during use, renters are responsible for the cost of repairing any damaged equipment or replacing lost items.
  2. The lost/damage fee will not exceed the purchase price of the item.
  3. Damage fees will appear as a separate charge from the rental.

LATE FEES

  1. Renters will be charged the daily rental rate for each day the equipment is past due.
