Dr. Myron Davis is the Assistant University Registrar at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app’s Davie campus. Dr. Davis enjoys working with ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app at the One Stop, located on the first floor of the Liberal Arts building, where he helps prospective transfer ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app enroll at the University. "In my 11 years of serving ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app on ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app’s Broward campuses, I am most proud of my ability to register ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app in their first experience at orientation," Dr. Davis said. "Then a couple of years later, I have the privilege to lead those same ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app across the graduation stage in our commencement ceremonies. The ability to witness ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app come full circle is both enjoyable and fulfilling."

Dr. Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in EnglishÌýfrom Florida International University, where he also earned a certificate in African New World Studies. He continued his educational pursuits at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app, earning a Master’s degree in Education in 2014 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Leadership in 2021. His research focused on the experiences of Black males in higher education which was sparked by his desire to create opportunity, access and equitable treatment for minoritized and marginalized populations. Davis enjoys mentoring and has used his passion for education to aid countless ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app in navigating the higher education landscape. Dr. Davis also worked with the Urban Male Initiative to aid in the retention and graduation of minority males at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app.

"My favorite event is transfer student orientation, where I have the opportunity to be a presenter and impact the flight of our student owls," Dr. Davis said. "To capture the importance of academic engagement, I coined the phrase ‘proper registration equals graduation’ for ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app to understand the importance of progressing in their degree program. It is rewarding to have ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app visit my office to inform me that orientation paved the way to their academic success."

Dr. Davis also offers advice to ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app staffers who seek to earn their graduate degrees at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app: "I would encourage colleagues to use the tools provided by the graduate college. A plan of study is essential to creating goals and remaining on the path to degree attainment. The plan of study will also aid in creating a calendar to meet the demands of the doctoral program."

On his free time Dr. Davis, who was born in Miami and lives in Miramar, loves "creating memorable experiences" with his family, such as travel, visiting museums, beach time, and dancing.
