Doctoral Program

¼ø»ÆÊ¦app offers a Ph.D. degree in Experimental Psychology. Graduate ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app in our program specialize in one of the following four research areas of psychology.

  • behavioral neuroscience
  • cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience
  • developmental psychology
  • social/personality psychology

The Ph.D. graduate program requires 80 semester hours of coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, in addition to a comprehensive examination and a completed dissertation research project. Ph.D. graduate ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app are accepted on a full-time basis and are expected to finish degree work in 4-5 years.

If you are interested in Neuroscience, you can also apply to a separate program at ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app that works in partnership with faculty from the Department of Psychology in the Schmidt College of Science that provides ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app a different unique opportunity during their first year to rotate in three neuroscience laboratories across multiple colleges and departments.

The ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute developed and oversees the interdisciplinary doctoral Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) that unites scientists, educators and ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app across multiple ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app Colleges and Departments where neuroscience faculty pursue their research, as well as the internationally-recognized research institute, Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, into a one of a kind training opportunity for those in the early stages of their neuroscientific careers.

Neuroscience has reached an extraordinarily exciting stage.
